In June 2024, the Going West Archive Project obtained a Lotteries Heritage grant of $46,000 to digitise and make accessible online 25 years' worth of materials relating to the Going West Festival. ALHT has contributed one third ($23,000) of the total cost of this project to share widely the legacy of an extraordinary literary institution.
The archive of quality audio and print materials is in the safekeeping of Auckland Libraries. The arrangement and description work has begun. Work on the audio material starts in October 2024. Arrangement and description should be completed by March 2025. The digitised materials will be available on Kura Heritage Collections online.
